Rehearsals
For the same reason that artists have studios, The Still Room exists to offer the same conditions to actors, playwrights and creative practitioners who need dedicated space to return to to develop serious work.
The open layout, moveable furniture and generous floor space make The Still Room well suited to rehearsal, script readings, scratch work, voice and movement, writing residencies, facilitated workshops, one-to-one coaching and self-tapes.
Photography and Content Creation
The room is south-facing, and abundant natural light creates clean, flattering conditions without heavy artificial lighting. It works well for headshot and portrait sessions, product photography, video recording and content creation. A range of photography backdrops can be made available on request. We are also able to offer in-house headshot photography at affordable rates.

Workshops
The Still Room runs a curated programme of workshops – drawing on the quality of the space, the particular character of Keswick Hall, and a community of practitioners and makers in Norfolk.
The sessions are designed to offer something genuinely worthwhile: time to make, to listen, to draw, to move, to sing – in a setting that takes the work seriously. All abilities and levels of experience are welcome.

Still Sundays: monthly taught Life Drawing
10.30am to 12.30pm – £25 per session
A monthly life drawing session at Keswick Hall, guided by an experienced tutor, with a different live model and focus each time.
There is something particular about a Sunday morning. The building is quiet, the light at Keswick Hall falls clean and unhurried across the room, and that quality of stillness tends to carry into the work itself. Each session begins fresh: a new model, a new set of constraints, a different invitation to look closely and respond honestly.
Your tutor will guide you through each session with clear instruction and individual feedback. All abilities and experience levels welcome. Materials are provided, or bring some of your own if you choose.
2026 dates: 5 July — 23 August — 27 September — 25 October — 15 November — 13 December

Still Sundays: monthly Meditation and Sound Bath
Monthly, 3.00pm to 5.15pm, arrivals from 2.30pm — £25 per session
Each session is beautifully designed specifically for the room and for the month: rooted in the seasons, the landscape and the particular character of Norfolk, its topography, its history, the quality of its light and its long, quiet stretches of land and water. Poetry and song are written for each occasion. Nothing is repeated. Nothing is generic.
You will be guided through breathwork and a short meditation before moving into an immersive sound bath, using a range of instruments chosen for the session. The experience is designed to slow the body, settle the mind and open a different kind of attention.
2026 dates: 28 June — 26 July — 23 August — 27 September — 25 October — 15 November — 13 December

Mondays: Sewing Circle & Conversation
Mondays 10.00am to 12.00pm – £12 per session (pay on door also welcome)
A weekly sewing circle at Keswick Hall, guided by an experienced textiles facilitator.
Some things are hard to let go of. A shirt worn soft with time. A handful of buttons saved from something long gone. A scrap of fabric that carries a place, a person, a moment you can’t quite name. Our circle is a space to work with those things rather than lose them: to cut, stitch, mend, transform or remake them into something you can keep and use. Or you might want to make something new.
Each week, bring whatever you would like to make, mend or work into something new, or use materials we provide to get you started.
No experience needed and you will be warmly guided. If you would like to make a full day of it, a creative circle runs in the afternoon with a short break in between. Bring your own lunch. Hot drinks available. Tickets for both sessions can be booked separately.
2026 dates: weekly on Mondays except for Bank Holidays

Still Saturdays: Printing Circle
Monthly, 10.30am to 12.30pm — £25 per session
A monthly printmaking session at Keswick Hall, guided by an experienced printmaker.
There is a particular moment in printmaking that is unlike anything else: the lifting of the block, the peeling back of the paper, the first sight of what you have made. You cannot entirely predict it. That is part of what makes it worth doing.
Each session is open to everyone. No experience is needed and no particular outcome is expected. You will be guided through the process, supported at every stage, and given the space to work at your own pace. The atmosphere is relaxed and the guidance is skilled. What emerges is entirely yours.
2026 dates: 20 June — 25 July — 29 August — 19 September — 24 October — 7 November — 19 December

Still Saturdays: Yin Yoga & Gong Bath
Monthly, 2.00pm to 4.00pm — £25 per session
Take time to move with intention before settling into stillness. This session combines a gentle yin yoga practice with a full gong sound bath, bringing together slow, sustained postures and the resonant frequencies of gongs, chimes and percussion. The sounds are heard and felt, working through the body to calm the nervous system and draw the mind into a quieter state.
Yin yoga works with long, passive holds that allow the body to release gradually and without effort. It is a quiet, unhurried practice suitable for all levels. No previous experience of yoga or sound work is necessary.
2026 dates: 20 June — 25 July — 29 August — 19 September — 24 October — 7 November — 19 December

Mondays: weekly Creative Circle & Conversation
Mondays 12.30pm to 2.30pm – £12 per session (pay on door also welcome)
A relaxed Monday afternoon drop-in for art and craft for anyone who wants to make something, at their own pace, in good company.
Bring your own project, or work with a selection of materials provided – watercolours, acrylics, pastels and more. Gentle prompts are available for those who want a starting point; there is no obligation to use them. The emphasis is on making rather than outcome, and on the particular quality of a slow, creative afternoo guided by an experienced facilitator.
No experience needed. If you would like to make a full day of it, a sewing circle runs in the morning with a short break in between. Bring your own lunch. Hot drinks provided. Tickets for both sessions can be booked separately.
